Undelete Partition on External HD
Hi,
I have 250 External USB HDD's and with all my data on it. I put it in the XP CD, and got to the "install/create partition" I then deleted the partition, but I did not go on with the format, because I noticed it was the wrong HDD.
Is there any way I can restore the partition (Undelete) and recover it to its original state.
The OS is XP, Ext HD is FAT and size is 250 GB. I have not (luckily) formatted the disk.
Is there anything out there that can help.
Thanks.

I can get Disk Director ASAP and yes the drive is currently unallocated. Can Recovery Expert, say if it finds the partition restore to its original state (with the data).

If you don't have Disk Director, I would suggest downloading the manual, available through the Home Product Guides link under Useful Links at the left. Look at the Disk Director Suite 10 User's Guide, especially Chapter 5, Working with Acronis Recovery Expert, which describes how to recover deleted partitions.
If you decide to purchase Disk Director, when you register the purchase (registering does not require installation of DD), you can download from your account an ISO image file that can make a bootable CD you can use without installing the software.

I did read the cap 5 it explains how to get the deleted partition my question when the deleted partition is restored will I get the data back (or when the partition is restored even the data is restored).

If the partition is still intact (hasn't been overwritten) and DD can find it, it should restore it back like it was. When DD does a scan, it will show a list of what it finds so you can see if it looks right before selecting what to recover.

Mudcard what you you suggest automatic or Manual recovery when I use DD.

You can try the Automatic scan first and see if it finds the partition. Basically, it's the same as selecting Manual and doing a Fast scan.
