Uninstalling OSS wipes out Vista boot files

Uninstalling OSS wiped out my Vista boot files, both the bootmgr and the \boot subdirectory from my c: drive. Why does OSS act this way.

I was able to recover by using the Windows Vista Repair option from the Windows Vista install disk. I would like to use OSS as my multi-boot manager but I do not want it wiping out my boot files. Is there a way to tell OSS to leave my boot files alone ?

Was OSS protecting the files?

Deactivating OSS is usually safer than uninstalling since you can reactivate it if you can't boot Windows.

This was my error. Uninstalling did NOT wipe out files. My apologies to Acronis fro my own stupidity.
