Upgrading a partitioned hard drive

We have Windows Small Business Server 2003. The hard drive is partitioned into a C and D drive. We would like to upgrade to a larger hard drive using Acronis.

Is it best to first merge the partitions into one and then image this hard drive to the larger one? Or would it be better to image each of these partitions to separate physical drives? What is the best way to do this and will Acronis True Image allow us to do this?

Merging partitions is not something I recommend. I would image the drive and then restore the image (resizing the partitions as needed) to the new drive.
