Volume copies have different statistics
Why does the copy of a volume have different Free Space and Used space statistics than the original?
I have an internal 250GB harddisk with a 40GB C volume for Windows XP Pro SP3 and a 20GB D volume for my data files. When I copy these volumes to unallocated areas on the same hard disk, the Free space for C changes from 8.989GB to 9.559GB and the Used space changes from 31.05GB to 30.48GB. For the D drive, Free space changes from 7.169GB to 7.170GB while the Used space remains unchanged.

I don't know. It was a volume copy so I would expect they should have been.

Apparently when you click on either of the circled arrows next to the unused space before/after boxes on the Specify Size window, in addition to moving the new volume to the beginning or end of the unallocated area, DD 11 also squeezes the volume to minimize its size. Manually changing either value to 0 repositions the volume appropriately while leaving its size unchanged.
