Why did D:\ disappear from Windows Explorer?

Thread needs solution

"DISK MANAGEMENT" DID YOU SAY??!!! did i check "disk management"?? did YOU check the photobucket url's included in my post (above)? it's simple: just hover your mouse cursor over the link, and when the link becomes underlined then just press the LEFT mouse button (NOT the RIGHT mouse button). it's easy; try it!

let me know how it turns out. GOOD LUCK!

Where was D: when it did exist on the drive? Was D: originally a partition that spanned the entire drive?

Do you know why the partitions are RAW? Were they RAW before D: disappeared? Normally, DD formats partitions when they are created. RAW usually indicates there is no file system on the partition.

You currently have four Primary partitions on the drive so you can't add another one without converting at least one partition to Logical.

you have me at a disadvantage: i don't know the concept "RAW."

however, addressing your other questions ...

D:\ was the name of the second hdd (the other, primary, is C:\, which houses Vista32)

there was a file system on all partitions; the purpose of the partitions was to install different os's; everything appeared to be working fine (although no os's had yet been installed into the partitions). i then invoked MS's lan-sharing capability for *C*:\ and the D:\ suddenly disappeared off windows explorer.

this is as best as i can remember the events.

i have since just wiped everything and will start over -- i don't recall anything important on D:\ .. still, i'm curious why this should happen.
