Will this method work?
-Disk Director Server 10
-Windows 2003 Standard, 32-bit x86
-Basic Disks
-C: drive, Raid 1 (Mirrored,) 36GB (2 drives 36GB)
-C: drive encompasses the entire hard drive array
-SCSI drives 0 and 1
-HP Server & Raid Controller and is hot swappable.
Our server's C drive is running out of space. Hard disks are fine.
My plan is to NOT break the mirror.
I want to pop out drive 1 and insert a drive that is 146GB.
I will then expect the mirror to populate the new drive 1 with the contents of drive 0
When the copy is complete, I want to pop out drive 0 and put another 146GB drive.
I will then expect the mirror to now populate the new drive drive 0 with the contents of drive 1
When the 2nd copy is complete I am expecting to have 2 larger drives but with still only 36GB of storage available.
How am I doing so far? Is that accurate of what I can expect?
At this point I want to install my Disk Director 10 and change the partition size so that I can use the entire 146GB.
Is my plan viable?
Will this work?
Has anyone done this, this way? with Win2003 and Disk Director 10?
Am I missing anything?
Any advice?
Thanks,
Eric
