Windows 7 Administrative Event 7000
Every time I boot W7 it logs the following Event 7000 Error "The Acronis OS Selector Reinstall Service service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified."
I have downloaded and installed the latest and greatest build #7046 for TI 2010 Home.
Everything seems to work ok but I must have something screwed up that causes the error to log in the Administrative Event Log. Help in making this go away would be appreciated.

Thanks for the information. I was looking in all the wrong places! Yes, I had Disk Director installed before upgrading to W7. For some reason the other two machines that I upgraded to W7 that had DD installed at one time or another did not end up with the same problem.
Just to be a purest, is it possible to delete the stuff in the registy so the non-existant service does not have to be disabled? I have searched on the key provided in the event viewer and found it in three or four places - delete the key and all its parameters? Or...I have downloaded the beta version of Disk Director - does anybody know if an install uninstall will get the job done? Or...should I jump over the the DD forum?

Ken:
Yes, you can delete the OS Selector Reinstall Service. Find the service in the "Services" and open it. Look at the top of the dialog box to find the exact name of the service. Then open an administrative command prompt and enter the following command:
sc delete name_of_service
where name_of_service is the exact name of the OS Selector Reinstall Service.

Thanks again. "AcronisOSSRinstallSvc" is gone.
