Windows 8 upgrade

Thread needs solution

We've got two Partitions on our PC. Both with Windows 7 on them, one for the Kids and one for us. Our Company received 10 copies of Windows 8 with Vertifications Codes, which were downloadable from the Partner website of Microsoft.

After restarting the PC from first upgrading the Kids Partition the Acronis OS selector displayed two OSs.
1. The original Windows 7
2. Windows 8

I don't know if this was the right thing too do, but i selected Windows 8 which displayed "preparing 50%...75%...100%". Then it had to restart.

Now comes the Problem:
The Acronis Loader starts to display
"Processing please wait" then "Updating Files"
But then it jumps back to "Starting Acronis Loader..." etc, and starts all over again and again. ESC or F6 don't do anything.

I read that Windows 8 is not yet supported by Disk Director 11. Could this be the Problem? Is there anyway one can get out if this situation?

Thanks for any reply!

I haven't tested OSS with Windows 8 so I don't currently know if there's a work-around. You may need to uninstall OSS and reinstall it, though you might just try reactivating OSS first. Otherwise, you can get Windows booting again by replacing the MBR (boot to the install DVD, select to Repair, run the following at the command prompt: bootrec /fixmbr).

Thank you for the reply,
It succesfully removed that constantly repeating reboot. Windows 8 is also recognized but it wont open. The only way i got it to start was by setting that Partition active. I'll just keep it that way until a Windows 8 update apeares.

Did you check that OSS configured the options/settings correctly for the Windows 8 entry?

Which OS is booting now? The Windows 7 OS?

Or did you disable OSS?

I see an Ad in the Acronis Web Site for the Acronis Disk Director 11 Home at 80% discount compatible with Windows 7, Vista and XP. No mention of Windows 8.

Anyone knows if there is a version of that Disk Director compatible with Windows 8 available or if there is one in preparation.
