XP doesn't boot

Thread needs solution

I have three OS’s installed in my PC: one Win7 and two XPs. Until recently it worked fine. I did not work in XPs for a while. A few days ago I tried to start XP and it did not boot. It only shows the initial Windows logo and then the black screen comes. The second XP behaves the same way. I suspect that it happened because of Win7 updates that were done after I booted XP last time. I will appreciate any suggestions.

Windows 7 updates shouldn't affect your XP partitions. Did you install any new hardware in your machine since the last time you booted XP? A new video card perhaps?

Does XP boot in SAFE mode?

Mark Wharton:

Thank you. No, I did not install any new hardware. XP booted in the Safe mode and installed two drivers: USB and Audio). After that it still did not boot in normal mode. I've attached two boot logs for each XP system. They tell that many drivers did not boot, but I cannot retreive other useful info from these)
I've also attached Acronis system report generated from bootable Acronis CD

I can only think of two things:
1) Did you change a BIOS setting, especially for disk access method? For example, from IDE mode to AHCI mode?
2) Are there any bad sectors on the XP disks or partitions? The Acronis system report shows no bad blocks reported, but it may still be worthwhile to run chkdsk /r on each of the XP partitions.

Mark Wharton:

I didn't change BIOS settings. I checked XP patritions with chkdsk - they were OK. Obviously the next step is to recover XP partitions from Acronis backup system images.
