ADM reads issues for Hitachi Deskstar 7k250 drive

Thread needs solution

I downloaded ADM expecting the same high quality as for other Acronis products, but was immediately alarmed by ADM reporting my Hitachi Deskstar 7k250 160GB drive as having several problems.

One issue was the drive temperature which the drive reports using Farenheit in SMART as opposed to Centrigrade for all my other Seagate drives - ADM reported the drive as being over heated!

A second issue is the Reallocation Event Count which every other SMART utitlity reports as being no issue, yet ADM suggests the drive is in danger of imminent failure with just 16 sectors reallocated on a 160GB drive.

I downloaded an evaluation copy of Drive Health 2.1 from http://www.drivehealth.com/ which shows all my drives as being healthy and which reads the temperature correctly etc.

Finally, ADM offers no easy way to tell it not to run automatically at startup and when I disabled the auto start of the ADM tray utility (using CCleaner) - this then caused Acronis True Image 2010 to fail to start, hanging on the initial splash screen and never getting to the point where it looks at my installed drives.

I have uninstalled ADM!

Regards, Steve

One further issue with ADM and True Image 2010 - ADM did not recognise that current backups existed for my drives, despite one such backup taking place whilst ADM was installed as scheduled within ATI 2010.
