ADM reporting question and accepting current status

Thread needs solution

Drive monitor is reporting two drives I have as per info below which does not seem to be correct IMHO I also see a number of SMART data numbers returned as 2147483647

Drive ST31500341AS Health:28%

Value Threshold Status
Reallocated Sectors Count 70 99 36
Spin Retry Count 2 100 97

Drive ST31500341AS Health:86%

Value Threshold Status
Reallocated Sectors Count 2 100 36
Spin Retry Count 5 100 97

Can anyone comment on this please?

Also in order to monitor degradation should I not be able to "accept" these values and then let ADM monitor for changes that occur and inform me again if/when these or other values go outside limits. Otherwise I just have the "!" up all the time and it just gets ignored.

Also there are four disks on the system so I would not see any changes to those which at this time are reporting 100% healthy.

Ah! is seems you have to add the Raw Offset column to the display and type in a negative value to offset the current status then the disk returns to 100% OK and one can watch for changes.

This information is not in the help file from what I can see - can it be added please.

I have copied the data from ADM for the 4 disks in my system (Now I have worked out how to do it) The first two are 320GB disks and the second two are 1.5TB disks. Some of the parameters when you compare the disks of the same type do not look right.

On disks 1/2 the seek error rate and temperature do not seem correct

on disks 3/4 Airflow Temperature, Temperature, Head Flying Hours, Total LBAs Written and Total LBAs Read do not look correct. If you compare the two disks the LBA's written and LBA's read seem to be working differently on each device.

Both pairs of devices are running the same firmware (but ADM does not report this anywhere I can see so far)

Firmware 3.AAE for disks 1/2
Firmware CC1H for disks 3/4

SeaTools also does not show any problems with any of the disks.

One last point - with ADM installed the disks never appear to power down as they did before. I suspect that this is due to SMART data collection - how often does this happen and can the time between SMART data collection requests be set anywhere?

Hello RayG,

Thanks for your suggestion, I've forwarded it to the responsible department, so we'll add this notice to the User's Guide as soon as possible.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you.

Hi Ilya,

Please see the post before yours - it seems we posted at the same time :-)

Ray,

Thank you for your post. Let me answer some of your question here.
The issue with raw values displayed as 2147483647 was quite simple. The library used in this grid does not allow displaying values longer than 4 bytes, while data field reported may be longer. Anyway, the issue is display only - internally Acronis Drive Monitor uses correct values. You may also find correct values in the "C:\ProgramData\Acronis\DriveMonitor\result.xml" file

SMART data is collected every minute. This is not configurable in the user interface.
