How to Clear Temperature Warnings

Thread needs solution

Hi
I have been using drive monitor for quite some time and find it very useful, when i get warnings about things i can normally right click on the warning and clear, ignore once or ignore always (after investigating what caused it!!)

The problem i have is that my external drive keeps overheating and i cant see a way to clear the warning message about it being to hot, nothing happens when i right click on the log message.

Can someone explain how i can clear the warning message, i dont want to stop it from monitoring the temp, just clear it for now.

Thanks

Pete

Pete,

I don't think you can clear temperature warnings, they will only go away when the drive is at the correct temperature. I suppose the only work around would be to increase the temp alarm setting way outside theat the drive is currently reaching.

If it is consistently getting too hot, beware it will at some point fail.

Thanks Colin,
It does seem crazy that you cant clear it, i think the problem was that i had two external discs stacked on top of each other and the heat from the bottom one was going on to the top one, this was causing the temp problem, i have now moved it so hopefully it wont happen again.

At least im not going mad, just couldnt figure out how to clear it, in the end i uninstalled & reinstalled, but not going to do that from now on, like you say hopefully it would have cleared itself when the temp dropped down.

Thanks for the explanation :-)

Pete

I have new SSD and got temperature warning 253 C (not once) which impossible. I have checked with another soft utility and it's ok. Is it software bug or what? Thank you

Garry,

You are getting that reading because SSDs do not give out a temperature reading, you will need to right click on the temperature entry and hide it. I can't test what I've just said as currently I have removed ADM from my system.
