Monitoring disabled by user

After downloading and installing this software, I encountered the same problem as several others in this forum: "Monitoring of all disks is disabled by user"
After viewing the suggestions in the thread related to this problem, I tried all of them and none fixed the problem.
Has a fix been found for this problem?
I'm running xp Pro with a Maxtor 80 GB drive "C", Seagate 120 GB drive "D" and a Seagate 120 GB external USB drive "F".
