Hi there

I had to restore SBS to how it was 1 week ago, and now need to restore mailboxes from Acronis backups. Obviously backups are more up to date than the exchange server, but when pointed at the backup location it sees all the backups OK, but i dont seem to be able to restore them, please help?

trying to restore a mailbox and getting mapi error 1,281 lots of times.
the client operation failed, component Microsoft exchange server information store ; context 1,245.
Cannot restore folder

please see attached screen shot.

I noted another which doesn't seem to have helped.

WHat do i need to do, i don't want to restore entire IS, as the last full mailbox backup is the latest, the last full IS backup is 5 days old.

To set the Allow Expand DL in ACL Data registry value:
Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
Locate and click the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem

On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry value:
Value name: Allow Expand DL in ACL Data
Data type: REG_DWORD
Radix: Binary
Value data: 1

YOU are not going to believe how silly i was, i managed to fix this by increasing the mailbox quota.
Acronis was trying to restore into mailbox and exchange was saying that it was full.
Wish this product had better error handling. :-)
