The Backup Information Stores wizard shows no Storage Groups

Thread needs solution

Backups cannot take place because no storage groups are detected.
In "Create Backup Wizard" storage gropups: 0
SBS2008

I have followed this KB
7488: Acronis Recovery for Microsoft Exchange Shows No Storage Groups in the Backup Information Stores Wizard
http://kb.acronis.com/content/7488

which leads to this KB
1825: Updating Acronis Recovery for Microsoft Exchange
http://kb.acronis.com/content/1825

Followed the uninstall instructions still get "Create Backup Wizard" storage gropups: 0

I have also tried couple of extra deletes within the process on the program folders, but still does not work.

Any ideas?

Self solved but here is my solution just in case anybody else gets this issue.

I ran a test in exchange using the "Best Practice Analyser" (BPA) the analyser failed with Error message: A local error occurred.
It was running command 'get-ExchangeAdministrator'.
This is due to the stored credentials for the domain being corrupt on the profile being used to run the BPA, this is also the profile used to run the exchange backups.
This issue only showed up in BPA, I didn't notice any issues causing this anywhere esle on the server, everything seemed fine.

I then ran "control keymgr.dll"
1. Click Start, click Run, type control keymgr.dll , and the click OK.
2. Click Back up, and then follow the instructions to save the current entries.
3. Delete any entry that matches the names of the Exchange servers and domain controllers in your organization. Typically, you want to clear all entries.
4. Try to open the Exchange Management Console

Now the BPA ran and when I logged into the "Acronis Recovery For Microsoft Exchange Managment Console" the storage groups recorded became 2 (the number of my storage groups).

Hope this helps others if it does leave a comment.
