taskservice.exe error 0xc0000142

Thread needs solution

Hello,

With installation of Acronis Backup & Recover and Acronis MS SQL my server displays this message (joined file in french).

"Taskservice.exe - Application Error
The application failed at initialization (0xc0000142). Click on OK to close the application"

I am not sure but I think the server displays this message when backup is running automatically. But if I launch backup manually I don't have this message and backup is ok.

My every hour backups of my SQL database don't succeed.

I found the answer:

After that no need to reboot, Acronis for MS SQL and Acronis BAckup and Recovery 10 works perfectly !

I review this post because I need to launch this scheduler everyday. The save works during 1 or 2 days and after that I have the message :

"Taskservice.exe - Application Error
The application failed at initialization (0xc0000142). Click on OK to close the application"

I have to launch the scheduler again and again ...

Thank you for bringing up this issue. I will definitely help you with it.

I am very sorry for the inconvenience, at the moment we do not have any information about what is causing this problem. We had similar reports with the same error message and our Quality Assurance team is currently working to reproduce it. As soon as I have more information I will let you know.

For now, as a workaround,  please try starting the backup manually, or, after the process errors out, restart the Acronis Scheduler service. You can also try using Windows scheduler to set up an automatic restart of the Acronis Scheduler service. You can use this tutorial as a reference.

created a vhd image lastnight but didnt close the program because i was using remote desktop and left it running, scheduled task run at 1am and 5am
logged on and saw the error 0xc0000142
tried to close it off but had to run taskman and end acronis program, straight after acronis started its scheduled task again for the 27/11
scheduled task conflict?? with leaving a task going overnight
this may recreate the error
windows xp is still service pack 2
need confirmation its not service pack causing problem

I would really appreciate if you could give me additional information because at the moment it is not clear why this issue occurs. Which Acronis program and what build you are using. At what step exactly does the error occur? Do you mind creating this report on the machine where the error occurred and sending it to me via a private message?

Once I have this information I will be able to let you know what is causing this error.
