Unsuccessful Exchange Backups and Excessive Processes Running

We are running into backup issues on our Exchange 2007 server. We are running Windows Server 2008 Standard Service Pack 2. The backups are failing and we have ended up with many "Acronis Impersonation Module for Microsoft Exchange" processes running. The backups are failing with the following error:
"Failed to read property. Error while receiving storage groups list. Cannot run the COM launcher. The system returned error: 'The system cannot find the file specified (2)'."

Are we safe to kill the excess processes? Any suggestions for a resolution would be much appreciated.
