Upgrading Acronis for Exchange

Thread needs solution

Hi all,
I am currently running Acronis for Exchange version 1.0 (build 220) - this was downloaded & installed in September of 2009. We have been having some problems with it, where after about a month or so, the backups will stop functioning (feels like a memory leak), then a reboot - and all is well for about another month. I would like to upgrade to the newest version (v 239).

So what is the upgrade procedure? Can I just do a normal/install upgrade or do I need to uninstall the old version and then install the new one? Do I need to recreate my tasks after the upgrade.

I am also running Backup and Recovery 10 - will this be affected by the upgrade?

Any and all help greatly appreciated,
Rob

Hello Robert!

Thank you for finding time to open the thread regarding this question, I will be glad to address it.

Acronis Recovery for Exchange wasn't upgraded yet, just updated (see difference between the upgrade and update in this KB article). The update doesn't require the older license or any payment. All you need to do is to obtain the latest build of the software, and proceed with the installation. You can find the links and instructions in this KB article.

Please note that it's recommended to update the Agent manually before installing the newer build. You can find the update instructions here. Please follow them, and let us know if you have any questions.

I'd like to make sure that you're all set, and would appreciate if you could let me know whether the technical issues remain after the update installation. Should they be present, please gather the diagnostic data requested here, then submit a support case with the information attached, and let me know it's number.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
