Acronis Snap Deploy 5 bandwidth throttling
I have an issue where the Acronis Snap Deploy server is pushing about 940 mbs on our gig network. I set the bandwidth throttling to 700mbs with no change happening.
This is taking down our wireless which consists of dozens of points.
Is there something I need to do to get the bandwidth throttling to work correctly?
Steve

Thanks for replying.
I've been in contact with Customer Support. We are trying to figure out what is going on as even with bandwidth throttling set to 1 MB, I'm still getting 133 MB in Unicast mode. We have to do more troubleshooting, hopefully tomorrow.

Interesting, keep us posted on what troubleshooting determines! 133MB with Unicast is a lot better than 940MB in multicast, but would be good to identify why the specific throttling setting is not keeping bandwidth at the set speed. Are you using Jumbo packets in your network enviornment on either the server switches and/or router? If so, ideally, you want it enabled on all devices. Even then, I've had mixed luck with jumbo packets that have caused other issues so we ended up disabling them completely and that brought more overall network stability.

Hi, I'm brand new to Snap Deploy and it's killed my network twice in 2 days (before I figured out what was going on).
I'll get busy with Acronis support, but in the meantime, did you get this resolved? Was there a quick fix for this bandwidth throttling problem please? Thanks folks.

Hi, fixed it. I had been trying to throttle the bandwidth in Management Console > Action > Configure Default Settings > Network Utilization, but it appeared to have no effect.
Since noticed that the deployment task was using a deployment template, which used its own network speed settings (the original defaults). Doh!
Edited the template in Action > Manage Templates > select a template > Edit > Next > Network Utilization. Knocked it down to Unicast and 500MBps. Working fine now.

Thank you for sharing the outcome, Matt!
