Acronsi won't update secure IDS & hostnames
I have created an image of a Windows 7 install
and am attempting to create a template for deployment.
However the app will not allow me to create
new hostnames and IP addresses, nor does it
give me the option of generating a new security ID
for the machine (contrary to the user manual).
I do not want duplicate security ID for hosts as they
will be deployed in the same Windows domain.
Thanks,
Simon Walton

Hi Anton,
The image was not created from a sysprepped machine. It was created
within windows; the image just has the OS partition.
Thanks,
Simon

Hello Simon,
Thank you very much for the follow-up.
Would it be possible to re-create the image and include the Windows 7 system reserved partition if it is applicable to your situation?
Also, changing SIDs is not really necessary, I would recommend this extensive explanation from Mark Russinovich.
Looking forward to your reply and if you have additional questions please let me know.
Thank you.

Do I need to image the whole disk instead of one partition? The original
Dell Studio system has an OEM partition as partition 1, partition 2 is
a recovery filesystem and partition 3 is Windows.
Even if I don't need to change the SID it's convenient in a
multimachine deploy to be able to specify the hostnames and
IP addresses.

Hello Simon,
Thank you for getting back to me.
I am certain that if you include those partitions in your image this issue will be resolved.
If it does not work, then we will need to investigate this issue and the fastest way to do it would be to contact our Support team.
Please let me know if you need additional assistance.
Thank you.
