After Deployment User/SID broken

Thread needs solution

Hi,

after adding two more User Accounts two an existing Master Image I am coming across a nasty “Bug” with this User Accounts. One user Account is blank, it is not part of any Group. The other one belongs to the local Administrator Group. Everything is local, so the Hardware affected is not part of a Domain.
When I deploy the Image to another Notebook (Hp 8570p) the Groupless Account seems all right. I can manage it, add it to Groups and even delete it. The Account which should be a Member of the Administrator Group seems to be broken.

In the Group this Account is only listed with it’s SID. The account cannot be deleted (Error Message says “The specified account name is not member of the group.”). Trying to delete the SID from the Administrator Group also generates the Error message mentioned above.

In the Account Information it says that it isn’t Member of any Group, but it also cannot be added to the Administrator (where it is listed with it’s SID).

This Problem affects not only the Windows 7 Notebooks, it also comes across on HP Server Dl380p Gen8 using Windows Server 2008R2 Sp 1.

It seems that this is caused by the SID changing process after the image is deployed and it affects only the new Accounts which has been added to the Master Image before.

Has anyone an Idea what could cause such a Bug, or how I can prevent it?
