Cannot find Acronis server?

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I've been using Acronis Snap Deploy for about 2 years. I've had this problem ever since we've installed it. The way I image a lab is I boot every PC to the PXE server. I have a menu that I switch them all to the snap deploy or whatever it says. Then they boot into a screen where it waits for me to send an image to the PCs.

In a lab of 30 PCs, it's normal for 2-4 PCs to fail. I'm 99% sure they're almost always the same PCs. For example, right now I'm reimaging a lab of about 30 PCs. 2 PCs failed. After a minute or so, they'll come back with an error saying it can't find the Acronis server. If I look closer, they have a 169.254.x.x IP address. What I've been doing for 2 years now is the few PCs that get the error, I just pull the hard drive and put them into another PC that works, image it, and put it back. Kind of an annoying step, but it works in the end.

There has to be a better way. Does anyone have any suggestions to troubleshoot why this happens?

Thank You,

David
