Can't see my network storage
Morning,
i am not able to create or deploy images from my server. The units to be imaged start up fine with the Acronis menu but when i select Master Image Creation or Deploy i can't select my network where my images lie or where i want to create them to.
Works fine from and to a external. But not through the network.
please help.
Thanks
Stef

Thanks for the quick response.
It works fine with a different model laptop.
The one that works uses a Broadcom NIC.
The one that doesn't uses a Atheros NIC.
Could that be the issue?
Thanks

Hello Stephen,
Thank you for replying.
It is very likely that the issue can be caused by the network card, since other models work fine in the same network environment. I would appreciate if you can submit a support request with the following report.
Our Support team will be able to get this fixed.
If you have additional questions or have any other issues, please let me know.
Thank you.

Thanks for the answers.
Will submit the report.
Another thing i would like to find out is how to deploy/ create images using the PE option, the manual is a bit unclear.
Thanks

I will be more than glad to guide you through the process, but in order to give you the detailed instructions I will need to know the scenario you would like to achieve. Could you please specify the details of it?

Thanks Yana,
okay what i want to do is use the PE option to create a master image and then deploy it to a couple of laptops. We got this right once but i forgot how we did it, oops.
I got the unit to boot with the PE which it gets through the network, now i want to push a image to the server and then deploy the image again to the laptops.
Isn't there a way of loading network drivers into Acronis :)
thanks for the support.

Dear Stephen!
Thank you for your comment!
I assume that PE is a PXE Server (correct me, if I'm wrong). In this case you need to perform the following steps:
- Install and configure PXE server to contain
a) Master Image Creator
b) Agent
(Instructions are available in the chapter 6, p.42 of the User's Guide) - Enter the BIOS of the target machine and set NIC in the Boot priority to be the first option
- Reboot the machine. It will boot directly to PXE server.
- Choose Master Image Creator and follow its wizard for taking an image
(chapter 7 in the User's Guide) - After the image was taken, go to the Management Console and choose to create a template
(chapter 9 in the User's Guide). Specify there all options you need for the target machines. Save the template - Force the machines, that will get deployed, to boot from NIC and boot them into the PXE as we did with the source machine. Choose Agent instead of Master Image Creator. After that you will see progress bar stuck on several % on the machines, and the list of these machines in the Management Console - that means, that they're ready for the deployment.
- Choose the template and deploy the image to the available machines.
There are also several types of deployment modes which may ease your work, so I'd advise you to take a look at them as well. All types are described in the chapters 10-15.
Let us know in case something's still confusing or you have any additional questions - we'll be glad to address each of them!
Thank you!

Hi Yana,
thanks for that indepth info, yes those steps work, but on the newer laptops i can't see my server where i want to create the image to and then deploy them from there.
Thats why i want to use the PE builder, where one can build the laptops network driver in. And then use the command line to create and deploy images.
Thanks for the support, one of a very few companies that actually do come back to a person and help.

Hi :)
I am trying to use Snap Deploy PE builder. Chapter 15
All goes fine, selected the required network drivers for the target and then click next, but instead of showing me a summary and giving me the option to proceed it say 'Select Windows AIK Installation Directory' when i point it to where I have the windows AIK installed it can't find the file????
