Create a master image and deploy Surface Book 2

Thread needs solution

I need to template a very complex installation of a Surface Book 2, with installed software (Office 365) - to install all this software, I need to create a user for it...

then on the Deployment image, these users should not exist - as I need to deploy to 20 machines with different local (workgroup) users.

And all that software must work in the end.

To top it off, the machines have SecureBoot enabled and are encrypted with Bitlocker - the deployment image must overwrite that.

And it must deploy from USB (offline).

Can I achieve all that with Snap Deploy? can I create deployment tasks such as running Powershell scripts, create users, copy folders to %appdata% so that on login their apps work correctly?

I am also concerned about the Windows Licensing (Windows 10 Pro) for each of the 20 machines - they all have different keys. How should I manage that?

Hello Alexander

welcome to Acronis user forums!

In the deployment settings you can specify the local user accounts that will be created on the target machines in addition to the accounts that exist in the master system. The setting is called User accounts.

In order to take a successful backup (image) of a BitLocker encrypted system, you'll have to use the Acronis software in Windows. If the requirement is to perform an offline imaging (via a bootable media), then the drive should be unlocked first.

I am also concerned about the Windows Licensing (Windows 10 Pro) for each of the 20 machines - they all have different keys. How should I manage that?

I've found the following article suggesting using Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup\ProductKey unattend setting  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/work-with-product-keys-and-activation-auth-phases. However, I'd advise directing this question to Microsoft, as they are better placed to consult on the topic.

can I create custom tasks for each usb deployment? All of them have to be offline. So let's say, can I create custom usb deployment with a custom W10 OS license key and a custom user?

Hello Alexander,

sure, you can create as many deployment tasks as you need, with different master images created for target machines.

Please use individual deployment settings
