Hello mike oray,

Welcome to our forum and thank you for your post. I will be happy to assist you.

At the moment, Acronis Snap Deploy 3 does not have this feature. On the other hand, we have other products that will allow you to place the backup on a disk so that you can boot from it and start the recovery process immediately.

For example, you can check this article which explains how to do that with Acronis Backup and Recovery 10. This feature is also available in Acronis True Image 2010 Home. Please check page 80 of the user guide which is available here.

If you need additional assistance please let me know.

Thank you.

ok thanks. well thats unfortunate. i just bought snap deploy 100 licenses for our company. is theyre another way i can do it without having to buy another software? Some of our offices dont have IT personnel so i need something simple for users to rebuild there pcs. having a bootable media +backup image increases a chance of them making a mistake.

Hello Mike,

Thank you for getting back to me and thank you for clarifying your deployment scenario.

If you need to deploy machines with a minimum of user interaction, I can suggest trying using Custom Deployment Mode.

The way it works is the following:

1. You can create a master image and store it somewhere on your network.

2. You can create a number of deployment templates, with unique names and store them on the deployment server. They can be password protected as well in order to avoid selecting the wrong one.

3. After enabling the custom deployment mode, the remote computer can be booted either with a bootable disk or into the PXE server. The bootable disk with the deployment template will become available as an option to create once you launch the custom deployment wizard.

The user on that computer will then be presented with a boot menu, from which he can select a specific deployment template or boot into Windows. After selecting the necessary deployment template, the deployment operation will then proceed automatically without user interaction. You can monitor the progress of the deployment from your Snap Deploy 3 Management Console.

I believe the whole setup and scenario is better explained in our User Guide. Please refer to page 83 for additional information.

Please let me know if you require additional assistance.

Thank you.
