Creating image for Dell E7275

Thread needs solution

When loading the Acronis image software from USB the machine touchpad and touch screen freeze. All I can use is the keyboard. Any idea why this happens?

The default media is Linux based and linux probably doesn't have the specific driver needed for that particular hardware (is Linux an available option from the manufacturer).  This is the case for some other touchsreends and/or touchpads such as the surface pro 4 which ony works with Windows 10 too.  The work-a-rounds are either:

1) use an usb keyboard/mouse (and possibly a usb hub if you're limited on ports)

2) create winPE rescue media instead and that should do the trick.  The downside with WinPE media is that it does not include the stand-a-lone deployment option like the Linux media does (not sure why).

Thank you for the response. I did try the external mouse and that worked. Thank you. My next issue is that while deploying my master image to the 7275 it keeps resetting back to the ready for deployment screen and does not complete the transfer. Anyone have any info on how this can be resolved? Thanks in advance.

Possible issue with the network credentials?

As a test, use the stand-a-lone deployment option with your bootable recovery media. Then see if you can connect to the share where your Acronis image is located.  You should be prompted for credentials when you put in the UNC path to the share (use the entire share and not just the root)

i.e.

\\serverip\serversharename

\\192.168.1.100\acronisimages

and if this is on a domain, when you enter the user credentails it shoudl be like this:

domain/username

If authentiated correctly, hopefully the stand-a-lone deployment will complete successfully.  If not, it may be a network issue or something else.
