creating images

Guys,

started testing snap deploy for creating images. I want to see if this product is the right product for me.
I installed snap deploy on my notebook. On that notebook i also installed vmware workstation. I created a virtual machine with several applications. i want to create an image of this virtual machine.
So i started snap deploy management console, but snap deploy cannot find the machine. So created a bootable media, started my vm with this bootable media and the chosen options was snap deploy agent. Noticed that the vm cannot communicate with the server.
question:

1/ is it possible to create images in a virtual environment and deploy them to a physical machine and is it adviseble to do it this way
2/ how should i define the networksettings in vmware to let my client and the virtual image communicate
