data1.cab file is corrupt??
I just got a brand new Dell system in on friday. I removed the bloatware, installed all windows updates, put it on our network, installed our company files (did more windows updates - after Office was installed), and was trying to get an image of this machine for future deployments.
I tried doing a typical install and it fails. So I just did a custom install and tried to only install the Management Agent and Management Console. The agent installs fine the console gets about 80% done and then reverts back and fails - gives us an error " The cabinet file" data1.cab" required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM or a problem with this package"
Any ideas? I downloaded the installer direct from the email I got from Acronis, I put it on a external harddrive and then pulled the install file from the hard-drive onto the actual system.

well after running chkdsk /r twice I am still getting the errors. So I called the Arconis Tech support and they told me to run a chkdsk on it...
I will be calling Dell tomorrow to find out why a brand new system came with disk errors...???

Hello CJones,
Thank you for your post.
Sometimes this error occurs if Acronis low-level drivers failed to install properly. Could you please launch the installation file and repair the Management Agent component.
According to the information from the case, our Support engineer ran the Acronis report utility on your machine and found some errors on the hard drive.
I would really appreciate if you could keep us posted and we can continue working on this issue through our Support team.
Please let me know if you have additional questions.
Thank you.

ok so I tried these this morning..
I called dell and walked thru diagnostics with them. Quick diagnostics found nothing so I ran a thourough diagnostics (took almost 2 hours) and still nothing wrong with the hard drive (it didnt find any bad sectors -- neither did the chkdsk's i ran twice)..
So I tried to do a repair on the acronis snap 4 install and still am getting the bad sector errors.
So I uninstalled and re-installed acronis and still am getting the bad sectors... At this point its definately something in the acronis software having issues...

I actually believe I figured out what the issue is. I believe the issue is that it cant read the OEM partitions on the hard drive and thats why its throwing up those bad sectors.
As I got a brand new dell laptop (same model as the one I have been working on) in yesterday and before I did anything else I ran diagnostics on it and nothing was wrong with it, so i tried to create an image from the brand new machine and I got the same exact thing. bad sectors and they were giving the exact same sector numbers.

Is formatting the drive and reinstalling Windows from scratch and then attempting to create your master image from the new install, an option?
I currently image HP machines on a regular basis (however, at my previous job, I imaged Dell machines all the time and never had any issues creating an image from a brand new model) but I have never had any issues with creating an image from one of them.

I have a new laptop and want to install the true image 2013, I have purchased a family pack license, when I log into my account and try to install I keep getting an error "The cabinet file" data1.cab" required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM or a problem with this package".
how can I fix this so I can install the program on my new pc?

Sona, you posted this in a wrong forum. It looks like the installer file is damaged. Check it it has valid Acronis digital signature (file properties->digital signatures->details)
