Dell Optiplex 3010 NIC issue
Hi There,
I am able to boot into PXE on this machine but once I enter Acronis image Creator it does not pick up the NIC. This seems to be fine with out 7010 systems
I'm guessing this could be a driver or PXE issue?
TIA

Has there been a resolution to this issue? We are taking delivery of a number of 3010s and need to image them. I have not upgraded to Acronis 4 and am reluctant to continue using the product due to continuing problems of this nature.

Hello Thomas and Frank,
Thank you for posts.
We do not have a custom build for Acronis Snap Deploy 4 Update 1 build 540.
The best way to resolve this issue is to contact our Support team with the following information.
As a temporary workaround you can create WinPe bootable media.
Please let me know if yyou have additional questions.
Thank you.

Using latest snap deploy 3.0, I have a Dell optiplex 3010 that will boot to pxe but will not load Master Image Creator or Snap Deploy. When i go through manually configure, the software does not see the NIC. This tells me that i need a newer driver in acronis. To complicate things further, this machine has no optical drive, so it must be booted via PXE.

Need a fix for this, Acronis. This is a support forum--pointing us to another avenue of support is not an appropriate fix. I'm stuck on build 268 to keep my 380s working, and I guess I'm still going to have to do our new 3010s manually via external hard drive and standalone agent due to this issue. To you other guys, what version are you running that the NIC works on the 3010s?

Acronis, where are you? It's like crickets chirping here.
I opened a support request for this problem, and the tech wanted me to try a hundred different things and take all of my morning at work to resolve this issue. I don't have the time for that. I eventually closed the support request since it never worked out.
The only way to image these machines is with external hard drives and the standalone agent. Has me seriously reconsidering using this product anymore.

To be fair they are usually pretty quick with most issues, this is the first issue I see them fall short of expectation...

I have about 20 optiplex 3010 machines and couldn't use ASD4. I've tried WinPE bootable media, but stuck on the interface saying NIC not found. I've also tried all their network drivers from their site and NO LUCK!

Hello Adam,
thank you for your posting.
If WinPE doesn't recognize your NIC you it might be that you added wrong drivers. You can check it creating a WinPE media without Acronis Plug-in.
Also please be aware that WinPE uses 32-bit drivers.
Thank you.

I stumbled across this as I am also trying to trouble shoot a PXE issue with Dell 3010s. Since it's a rather old post, I'm curious if it will get a reply. I've configured it to boot w/PXE but it sits there looking for a DHCP server. The only problem is there isn't one. The computer that is supposed to receive the image has a static IP and the Snap Deploy server that's also the PXE server also has a static IP.
The User Guide is totally useless when it comes to providing diverse scenarios. Nowhere does it address how to force a client to network boot. Ghost Corporate just does it as soon as you start to push the image. The snap deploy server can't even see the client unless I boot with the CD. Going to 25 computers and booting one at a time is not practical.
Has anyone actually gotten PXE to work with a Dell Optiplex using the built-in NIC?
