Deploying to Fujitsu Siemes Lifebook S710

Thread needs solution

Hello.

I'm able to deploy to all computer models besides the Lifebook S710 from Fujitsu Siemens (FS). Knowing that manufacturers such as FS and Dell aren't keen on supporting deployment issues I will post my case here.

Booting both from my PXE server and DVD works fine. However, when I choose "configure" (where you can specify deployment server and network settings) there aren't any network settings available. I do believe that this is the root of the problem. When I move on it stops on "Processing, please wait...". The PC does therefore not appear in the Snap Deployment Management Console.

Do you have any experience with this particular PC model or this issue in general?

Kind regards,
Nils Rune Hjelle

Hello Nils,

Thank you for posting. I will certainly help you with this problem.

It appears from your description that our software is not picking up your network card. It is possible that our program does not have the necessary drivers to detect it properly. I would recommend the following solution:

1. Please update the program to the latest build, 3470, make sure that the bootable media is also updated. If the network card is not detected, please check step # 2.

2. Collect the following report which will help us to investigate this issue and contact our Support team to speed up the resolution.

I am very confident that we will get to the bottom of this.

Let me know if you have additional questions please.

Thank you.

I am following the "If you would like to create the report on a flash drive, click here" guide.

When I enter cat /proc/partitions I get way less information than the guide does. I'm missing the path to the flash drive (scsi/host0/bus0 etc etc).

Any idea?

Hello Nils,

Thank you for replying.

It is possible the flash drive is not getting detected by our bootable media. Can you please download the bootable media from your Acronis web-account and try booting either from the standalone version or the master image creator and check if it detects your flash drive.

The bootable components used in the PXE Server and the bootable media are identical.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

Hi again.

As I said above, the USB drive is detected. It is also probably mounted automatically.

Can you explain me how I can write to a mounted USB drive?
