Deploying Image to Lenovo X1 Carbon 4th Gen connected to onelink+ dock Fails

Thread needs solution

Hi I hope someone can provide guidance for me on this issue.

We have some new X1 Carbons in to replace Dell e7450's . However since the carbons do not have a nic  i need to connect them to the onelink+ dock to get PXE functionality.

The onelink dock uses a realtek nic inside it and I have downloaded the driver and added it to the PXE menu.

So what Happens when I PXE boot these machines it loads the Bottwiz menu and I can select what image I want in the user controlled imageining menu. Acronis then loads the Waiting to deploy screen and there it is showing a 169 Ip address  and will sit at that screen forever.

Side Note: I was able to connect to the acronis boot  system and captre an image just fine  through pxe.

So it seems to me that the driver is the issue and I cant figure out how to get Acronis to use the right driver in the PXE environment.

Thanks

I have also just tried the Beta Build 1662  And my Nic still not receiving an Ip at the ready for deployment screen

Duncan, I sent you a PM with beta 1666 that just came out.  It also has support for NVME drives now. Perhaps it will provide the NIC support you're looking for too. Try pxe boot directly to the default Acronis Linux media and not the WinPE - it will hopefully work out of the box with the latest version. You can also try the stand-a-lone deployment option in the Linux bootable media, connect to the server share or location of the backup through it, and deploy the image as is, with SID changer and/or Universal restore on the fly.  Stand-a-lone is not supported from server deployment, but can be burned to a USB drive or disc and booted directly to the system.  You also don't burn any deployment licenses with stand-a-lone so it has some advantages in that regard too.

Alternatively, when NIC's are an issue, I use a USB 3.0 to Gig-E adapter as the drivers for those are generic and have been supported since SD4.  They are a relatively cheap solution and work great for all kinds of tablets that don't have dockign stations and/or ethernet ports.  I find that the ones with 3 USB ports on them work great for tablets so that you have one adapter with ethernet, keyboard, mouse and an external drive attached to it which works very well.

or without the extra USB ports

Thanks Bobbo the 1666 update will had the issue.

I am able to standalone Image but I really prefer PXE imaging

So I have ordered one of the usb dongles that you linked.  That arrives today
