Deployment failed with new CompactFlash cards

Thread needs solution

Hello everyone,

we are using pretty old thin clients from 2006 with 16 GB CompactFlash cards from Transcend. We bought some new SanDisk 16 GB CF cards which are slightly smaller (difference of 80 sectors) but now deployment always fails. This is what the log says:

I don't really now what mapping means in this case... if I clone the drive on a pc with a card reader Windows boots normaly, but that is too inconvenient with our number of clients. Do you have any idea how I can fix this problem?

Best regards,
Philipp

Hello,

Error "Failed to map BIOS disk '1'" looks like the flash card is detected as the first disk in BIOS. This is a known issue.
There is a workaround:
Edit the deployment template -> Go to the template settings -> Select the item "Target disk layout" and change the option "Deploy to" from "Default disk" to "Disk number in BIOS: 2" -> save the changes in the template. It should help.
