Deployment Scenarios

Thread needs solution

Different Scenarios:
1) I have a dual-boot machine (let's say XP-Win7) and I want to clone and deploy only the win-7 image. If I clone and deploy win7 partition and the corresponding win7 start-up partition to a new system, will that work? or will the system look for XP as well?
2) I have a single boot machine (let's say XP) and I deploy a clone of a single boot Win-7 machine to a new slave-harddrive in the XP machine, will that work?

are there procedures for multi-boot systems? is that a no-no? or does it work?

Dear Vadim,

Thank you for your post on our Forum!

Concerning the first scenario, even if you have a dual-boot machine you can choose the operating system which you want to deploy. Creating the image for deploy you just need to specify the volume with particular operating system that you want to deploy. Please follow this link, here you will find complete information how to specify volume to deploy.

As for the second scenario, there are also no limitations for deployment. You just need to specify the location where you want to deploy. I would like to provide you the article with detailed instructions how to choose the location for the deployment.

Vadim, If you have any additional questions concerning Acronis software, please let me know!

Thank you!
