deployment start conditions

Thread needs solution

i've finally got almost ready to deploy but i'm confused after reading the manual about configuring the wait for ready, then stop, or run to the the machines that are ready.

We have told the system to wait an hour. during the hour, we have a system task that reboots the machines. However, if the system task fails to run, or a particular machine doesn't restart within the hour, i'm not sure what to set the option to:
A: Run the machines that are ready
B: Stop the task
Our tasks are scheduled dialy at 2am to re-image. they wait an hour. if we stop the task, is that like disabled? or will it still re-run on time the next night? Or since it didn't find any machines ot run with in the hour, will it fail the current task, and schedule the next night. what if the computer is rebooted for some reason during the day. Since it's waiting to run any ready machine, will it now run on that rebooted box in the middle of the day.

i don't find a clear answer. since we are open 7 days, it's hard to test on a live system. Maybe someone has done this or has a clearer answer than the manual does.

Does anyone know if you can run acronis snap deploy 4 tests on a virtual network (windows virtual PC) server and client?

You can make and deploy from a VM, but the VM image becomes a physical image.

Hello, Whitebus!
Thank you for choosing our product for your deployment purposes. Let me help you with your concerns.
Option B "Stop the task" means, that current deployment would be stopped. But task would still be running and waiting for it's schedule time. So if have scheduled the task to be run daily at 2 p.m. and have selected to stop the task after time out, then current deployment would be stopped if start conditions were not met and would start next day at 2 p.m waiting for the same conditions. I agree, that text is a little bit concerning right now and I'll submit a task to change the text in fitire updates.

If you have any other questions, feel free asking them.

thanks Andrew, i'll "stop" the current task so that it can run again the next night. Thanks also for correcting the manual ambiguity.
