Does Snap Deploy 4 work on Optiplex 790s?

Thread needs solution

I would like to purchase Snap Deploy 4 to handle a deployment to 100+ machines, but the hardware we will be using are Dell Optiplex 790 computers. In researching these forums, it appears that several people are indicating problems with Optiplex 790 and 390 models. These issues have been addressed by directing those users to download a newer (beta?) build, and there hasn't been much updated info on the issue beyond that. I absolutely must know before I commit to buying this software if it will not work on the machines I plan to use because I am under time constraints to get this deployment done and can't be spending days/weeks waiting for support to resolve the problem. Can someone please provide me with the most up to date information on this issue, has it been resolved, is it confirmed that users can deploy images to Optiplex 790 computers, and if it is fixed, what was the source of the problem?

I will be doing a simple windows 7 master image build, then pushing it out using the boot media on each individual machine (not WinPE)
Thank you for any help.

Dorsetbjm - I don't know if this has been answered for your via email or support or not. But I've been trying to get a resolution for this optiplex 390 issue since January. And I don't see any signs/communication towards a resolution. I would advise using another product, I know I will be once our lease term is up.

I don't know if the issue has been fixed but I can tell you from my experiences that I have never had any issues imaging Dell machines or any other machine using Acronis software (I was in charge of our imaging project at my previous place of employement). My suggestion to you would be to get a hold of a sales rep and see if he can get you a trial license. They will do this because we just did it here at my new place of employment. I was able to talk my new employer into a purchase after the trial expired.

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your posts.

dorsetbjm, I would definitely recommend to download a trial version to make sure the software performs well in your environment. Currently all the known issues with Dell Optiplex 770 and 390 models mentioned in the forum have been resolved.

Sandy, we have two of your cases in our support system. You replied that one is resolved and in the other our Support Engineer asked you for an update.

Looking forward to your reply and if you have additional questions please let me know.

Thank you.

So is it working for the 390s? I just got 4 of them in and I want to know before I start trying to image them???
