E00040009 error occurred while renaming the file. Input/Output error

Thread needs solution

I am attempting to create a Master Image for a Windows Server 2003 machine. I go through the normal process and designate the destination as a network path on my personal machine. It goes through image creatino successfully until it reaches the end and moves onto Step #2:

2. Saving Partition Structure

Immediately at this point a popup appears that says: "E00040009 error occurred while renaming the file. Input/Output error." and gives me the option to retry.

I have not been able to find any information on this error message. I found a few involving "Input/Output error", but they were all linux related. Does anyone have any information on this error?

Hello, Howard

Please check permissions of your network share. Can you try to create another shared folder with "full access" for Everyone and specify its path as a master image location in the master image creator wizard?

If it doesn't help, you can try to use WinPE Bootable media to create a master image. Or use an External USB hard disk (or a flash drive) as a destination for the master image.

Best regards.
