Failed to connect to drivers’ storage
Ive spent a few hours on the phone trying to solve this issue, but I just keep getting conflicting answers. Perhaps I may be able to get a solid answer here where phone support has failed.
Im trying to deploy to an Optiplex 380 using universal deploy since my original image was created on an Optiplex 790. Each time I call, I get a different answer as to why at the 20% mark, I get the error "Failed to connect to drivers' storage"
Steps to get to this error using Snap 4 Build 282.
Boot from PXE server (Windows Server 2008 r2)
Launch Deploy Agent.
Deploy to: Machines listed below (yes it shows up)
Use PXE server for booting into agent is checked
Create Deployment Task - Create New
Create a new template
Navigate to my image on the servers data drive (E:\Snap Master Images\ and select one)
Checking both partitions (Windows 7 64 bit)
Deployment Settings
Machine name - Test
All other settings left to default
Use on Universal Deploy
Configure Automatic driver search -
this is where I get conflicting answers from several Acronis techs.
I've been told to use a network path to the drivers, as well as being told to use
the direct File path on the local server. Both ways end in the same error.
So either using e:\snap master images\drivers, or \\servername\snap master
images\drivers or any other combination of path names with no spaces.. with
underscores.. no underscores.. shortened names because the name was too long
or what ever other whim a tech has had hasnt worked. Since there is no proper
Browse for files here I assume it needs a network path, despite being able to type
one in manually(and being told by a tech you MUST use a file path)
Specify mass storage drivers to install anyway
Ive tried both specifying a driver and leaving it empty. Same result.
Save template name - test
Specify when to run the task - now, using my domain admin account credentials
Specify deployment start condition - 1 hour and Deploy to the machines that are ready
Click Create naming task Test Deploy
The top progress bar gets to 100%(@30m on a 15gb image), then hangs for about 5 minutes, total progress sticks at either 20% or 21%, then produces the error.
Please internet community end my pain and suffering :)
