How-to capture and deploy a system which is configured in SSD-cache RAID mode?
Hello everybody,
We recently purchased new HP Elite 8300 computers. Which are shipped with two hard disks :
1x 20 GB SSD hard drive
1x 500 GB SATA hard drive
They are pre-installed with Windows 7 Pro 64-bits, and they works perfectly. The problem is that the disks are configured in a RAID-mode with SSD-cache and disk acceleration. And with this system we cannot anymore capture / deploy the system, even if I build / load RAID drivers in Snap Deploy or in the WinPE CD.
I already searched on this forum and I found two persons having the same issue :
but I didn't found the answer in these topics. Please let me explain how I was preparing my system image before :
1. Start with Win7 original DVD and install the OS with only one "SYSTEM" partition
2. When the install is complete. the computer reboot and show up with the "choose a username / computername", at this step I usually press Ctrl + Shift + F3 to enter in Audit mode
3. There I customize my system with apps, etc. and then I run a sysprep with my answer file (unattend.xml)
4. The system reboot, I enter in PXE mode (or with offline snap deploy CD) and capture my system
And it was working fine, when computers were not configured in RAID-mode. Actually what I had to do to capture / deploy these new HP 8300 computers was to :
1. Enter in the Intel Rapid Storage Technology software (pressing Ctrl + I after POST) and disable the Disk Acceleration
2. Install my OS, configure it, sysprep it and capture it.
3. Deploy the new captured image to other machines after disabling the disk acceleration in Intel RST.
Okay, at this step I can boot up new deployed machines, but my problem is that I cannot anymore enable the disk acceleration in Intel RST software. And that is embarassing because it means the SSD disk is useless and we loose performance. You can find in attachments some screen shots of the Intel RST software after a deployment.
Anyone is having the same issue ? I'm afraid that we cannot restore/deploy new system image with this configuration because I think it will become more and more common in the future.
Thanks in advance for your precious help !

Dear James,
When I do this it breaks the RAID and once I restart I cannot bootup anymore to my system.

Same problem here! :((
HP Elite 8300, 3.5" system / data disk and SSD acceleration disk
I'm going to try with the latest version of Acronis Workstation build 37191, with acceleration = ON and with both disks: system and acceleration

We are having the same problem with HP 650 G1, 500Gb hdd + 30 ssd cache. If disks are configured to raid mode, it cannot be cloned to similar computer. Cloning does not say any error but the cloned computer does not boot. Id disks are in achi mode everything works but you don't get the ssd cache benefit.
Any solution for this problem? Sorry this one went to wrong forums, meant to post to true image forum
