Image Creation Failure Error 0x1480006

Thread needs solution

I'm trying to create an image of an HP ProBook 640 G8 running Windows 10, version 20H2. I PXE boot the laptop, take option 1 (Acronis Snap Deploy 5 Master Image Creator), and more or less immediately get hit with Error 0x1480006: The video framebuffer parameters are invalid. Just below the error it says "Kernel console may work incorrectly". After that, the laptop sits on that screen and I have to hold the power button down to crash it to get free from it.

Has anybody else ran into this yet, and if so, what was your workaround/fix?

Hello Dan,

thank you for posting on Acronis forums!

Please follow recommendations from this KB article: https://kb.acronis.com/content/62646

Hi Maria,

I do not have Acronis True Image, I only have Snap Deploy 5. There is not an Active Protection tab nor do the file pathways mentioned exist for me to follow along Method 1 and there is no Rescue Media Builder in my Tools dropdown menu for me to follow Method 2. Are these things located elsewhere or named differently in Snap Deploy 5? I was unsuccessful in finding them when looking on my own.

Hello Dan,

To create a bootable media

  1. Start the management console.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Create bootable media. Please refer to https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/ASD5/#13484.html fore more details.

We recommend trying to create a WinPE-based media and re-attempt image creation.
