Image size is too big / options to resize

Thread needs solution

I am using the latest 1656 build (trial version) and have an issue where the image size is 226gb which is the full size of the c: OS drive. There is around 30gb in use on c: OS drive, so I would expect the image to be around 30gb (or less when encrypted).

I am using the trial version installed on the machine I am making a 'master image' from.

Operating system is Windows 10 Pro 64 bit.

Machine is Dell Inspiron 13 7000.

I am evaluating this to purchase license for 15 machines I need to build and deploy in our business.

Can anyone suggest a solution / config setting to change the image size to only used data?

Hello, Ben

Probably, this image was created using sector-by-sector method. I would suggest you to check the disk you are imaging using a native error checking tool (Disk properties -> "Tools" tab -> Check -> Scan) or performing the command chkdsk c: /f /r in the Command Prompt (Run it as Administrator. Reboot is required in most cases).

After that, you can try to recreate the master image.

Best regards.
