Thread needs solution

Has anyone ever used SD to capture\deploy images from\to a Boot from SAN LUN. with CISCO UCS blades? How did it work for you.

Thanks,

Ed

Hello Ed,

I doubt you will get a response on this question, so I will tell you what we are doing. We have an EMC NS-480 with a CIFS share running off of the SAN. When we are imaging, we just point to that CIFS share like a common windows share. This is going over a gigabit network consisting of Cisco devices (combination of a blade driven 6513, and a lot of 3650 and 3750 switches in the field).

This works really well for us. It takes just a few minutes to create or deploy images that are 4 to 5 GB in size. The bandwidth runs on average at 7,500kb during the process which I am guessing is "max speed" for the client's hard drive.

Hope that helps.
