Imaging on other side of WAN; cannot find license server

Thread needs solution

We've moved offices to a temporary location that is connected back to our main office via a WAN link. I need to image a PC in the temporary office, so what I did was install all the Acronis Snap Deploy components on my workstation, including the License server.

I can successfully boot the target computer and connect to the Deploy server on my workstation. However, when I go to deploy, I get an error "Host Old-ServerName is not found on network while trying to get license for Acronis Snap Deploy 3.0 (English)". It seems like it's trying to connect to the old license server back at the main office, instead of connecting to the license server on my local workstation from which I am deploying from.

How can I point the imaging process to use the license server on my workstation, instead of trying to go across the WAN to the old license server? Is this something that's built into the image file itself? All of the images I need to use were created back on the other side of the WAN using the old server.

Hello Mike,

Thank you for your post. I will definitely assist you with this issue.

You are correct, the OS deploy server is most likely pointing to the old Snap Deploy 3 License Server. I would recommend the following solution:

1. Uninstall Acronis OS Deploy Server from Windows add/remove programs.

2. Install it again and when prompted, please specify the IP address of the new License Server.

This should take care of it and if you like you can check page 28 from our user guide for additional information about installing the OS Deploy Server.

Please let me know if you need additional assistance.

Thank you.
