It's time we get some clarification on Wild Cards with Computer Names.
Hello, I have been searching high and low for this, and the User Guide is not of much help for this. The guide does not say exactly the text string I need to enter for wildcard naming. It shows as follows:
{start}
{1}
This will generate names 1, 2, 3…N
{start,count}
{1,5}
This will generate names 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Text{start}
Name{1}
This will generate names Name1, Name2, Name3…NameN
This is very confusing. It does not accurately state what needs to be entered in the naming field. I want to name my computers west1, west2, west3, etc. So I assume I need to use the Text{start}, which is shown in bold. But underneath it says Name{1}. Which of these am I supposed to enter? I have tried doing west{1}, and it named two PC's I imaged the same name. Can I please get some clarification here? Thank you

Hello Devan,
Thank you for your post. I will definitely help you with your question.
To give your machines these names: west1, west2, west3 etc, you will need to write the following in the deployment template: west{1}
If it does not help, please contact our Support team with the following diagnostic information so that we can troubleshoot this issue:
1. Screenshots all the steps from your deployment template.
2. Acronis Snap Deploy OS Patcher logs, they can be collected the following way:
- Please send us a copy of %Windows%\Debug\ folder from the restored system (after boot up) and the logs of Snap Deploy "patcher", the names of which look like "os_patcher[dd.mm.yy].log" and are located in %Windows%\System32\ folder.
- If there is a window with message saying that the system is being patched and it prevents you from logging into Windows, then please click on the red "X" to close the window. This should allow you to log into the system.
Please let me know if you have additional questions.
Thank you.
