Licensing for Snap Deploy

Thread needs solution

Hello, I am currently using an ancient version of Ghost to deploy a new machine in my environment.

At the moment I use it to put an image onto a new machine, and thats about it.

I was looking at upgrading to Acronis, but am a bit confused at the licensing.

If I have 50 machines on my network. But only ever use 4 or 5 images. (depending on target machine type)

Will I have to buy 50 Licenses? Will retired machines fall out of the license range as new machines replace them?

Or can I get say 10 licenses that will cover me for the machines I'm ghosting at one point of time, then reuse those licenses a year down the track when we get another 10 machines?

I dont plan on doing the whole Server hosting images and workstations backing up continually to it. All I want to be able to do is create an image, and then deploy it as new machines arrive.

Is Snap deploy the best solution for this?

Thanks,
Nathan

Hello Nathan,

Thank you for posting this question. I will be happy to answer it.

According to our License Policy you will need 1 license for each machine that you are planning either to image or deploy with Acronis Snap Deploy 3. There is no time nor amount limitation for the licenses, that is, you can use the same license on the same machine over and over again.

I can suggest to check this article that talks about licenses assignment in Acronis Snap Deploy and if you need more details about our licensing policy, please check this article.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Thank you.
