Machines Restart Themselves When Trying to Deploy

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I am having an issue when trying to deploy an image to multiple machines at the same time. I have 10 machines hooked up to a switch in multicast mode. Once all of the devices are ready, I create a task to deploy a small 8gb image to the machines.

When I do this, All but 1 machine will restart itself and go back into the Acronis Boot Menu on the PXE server. I have enabled the option to wait until all machines are ready. I am running Windows 7 Professional 32-bit.

What I don't understand is why the machines are restarting? Why is the Acronis software restarting them? Why does 1 machine go through the typical deploy, while the others fail?

Any ideas?

Hello Casey,

Thank you for your post.

This issue could occur if there are not enough licenses in the License Server or due to some peculiarity in your network/hardware configuration.

I would recommend to check if you have available licenses in the License Server and switch to unicast mode in the deployment template.

If this does not help, please contact our Support team for additional investigation.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

I have run into this issue while deploying to a few Optiplex 740 machines, exactly as you described. I second Anton's suggestion of switching to Unicast (still not even sure what the point is of Multicast, as it just floods the whole network). I'm not sure exactly what I changed, but go over your deployment settings. I think that it may have occured for me due to a bug with deployment tasks and the template switching back to Multicast. To work around it, create a new template and only create one deployment task with it. Confusing, I know...I am going to make a new post about this annoying bug.
