New install - multiple issues

Thread needs solution

Just downloaded and installed Snap Deploy 4 for PC. Need to do some testing prior to purchasing. Have the console installed on a Windows 2008 Standard server.
All menus options are blank when I open them -
Try to validate image - Action - Validate Image - Error box with Red X, nothing else.
(I was able to create the boot CD and have a master image created)
Click on PXE server - program crashes completely.
Click on Licenses - program crashes completely.
Click on Help - About - window opens with no information and 'OK' button has no label.

Entries in Event Viewer on server where management console is installed:
Faulting application SnapDeployConsole.exe, version 4.0.0.268, time stamp 0x4e1c6f8c, faulting module fox.dll, version 4.0.0.268, time stamp 0x4e1c6ea9, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00076d8e, process id 0x434, application start time 0x01cd73eab750a48c.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This post can be closed. I've moved the console to a different server and all functionality of Acronis is now working.

I just bought below product from Acronis agent and this is my first experience with Acronis product (I was using other product with Standalone installation):

1. Acronis Backup & Restore (ABR) 11 for Advance Server including with universal restore licenses (3 set) for dissimilar hardware.

2. Snap & Deploy (SAD) 4 for Server including with universal restore licenses (3 set) for dissimilar hardware.

3. SAD4 for Workstation including with universal restore licenses (18 set) for dissimilar hardware.

I need some help how to setup/install all products in one (combine) network with below considerations (or please advise my plan below):

1. Lincense 1 (ABR11 Advance Server) to be installed in 3-servers with Windows 2003 SP2 OS.

2. License 3 (SAD4 for Workstation) to be installed in 18-workstations with Windows XP Pro SP3 OS.

3. Lincese 2 (SAD4 for Server) to be install in 3-servers with Windows 2K3 SP2 OS. One of this Server (let call it as Server-X) with SAD4 for server has dual NICs, one NIC connects to same network with 5 severs (3 with ABR11 and 2 with SAD4) and other NIC connects to same network with 18 Workstation (SAD4 for Workstation).

4. Since only Server-X (SAD4 License) has dual NICs so I want to configure Server-X as Acronis Server, License Server and every thing/resource that required to manage all acronis applications in other (5+18) machines.

Please help me how to do it.

- What step I should do it first?
- Should I install Server-X first and what feature or option to be installed in it?
- How about Server with ABR11, what feature or option to be installed in it and can I backup up / restore them from Server-X?
- How about Workstation with SAD4, what feature or option to be installed in it and can I backup up / restore them from Server-X?

Thank you very much for any feedback, comment and help.

Regards,
Ismail Umar

Hello Ismail Umar, Hello Freddu D,

Thank you for using Acronis software.

@ Ismail Umar:

First, I want to apologize for the late reply.

If I have understood your situation, you have two network segments and one Server (X), which can access both, segment A and segment B.

In segment A you have your servers and want there to work with Acronis Backup & Recovery. While in segment B your workstations reside and there you want to use Acronis Snap Deploy.

I do not suggest using your Server X as main machine, as you can run in several issues. The main reason is the two NIC’s in your Server that cause problems with Acronis Snap Deploy.

If possible, install Acronis Snap Deploy 4.0 in your Segment B for your Workstations on a Machine that have only one NIC. The management components of Acronis Backup & Recovery can reside on your Server X if you want.

I have reviewed your account and found that you have a valid maintenance. I have already upgraded your Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 licenses to Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 upgrade licenses. If you want to install, I suggest using the latest product. You can download the latest version from your account.

@ Freddu:

I am sorry to hear that you run into problems using Acronis Snap Deploy 4.0. Unfortunately, your message is not clear enough to investigate into your issue. I suggest contacting support in order to solve your issue. Please find here more information about your support options in our Customer Handbook.

If there is anything else, we can do for you, please let me know.

Thank you.

Freddu D,

I was curious as well if you found a resolution?

Have you tried uninstalling the SD4 application?
