Only most recent image appears in Active Directory

Thread needs solution

Hello,

Previously we used ASD4 to clone a group of approx 10 Asus G74Sx laptops running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. These machines are in the process of being replaced with new Lenovo ThinkPad W550s laptops for which we have created a new Windows 10 image. We have upgraded our Acronis deployment server to ASD5.

We have two of these Windows 10 machines on our network (DC's running Windows Server 2008 R2.) We used the first machine to create the image and cloned the second machine, however I've noticed the original machine is no longer appearing in Active Directory, only the cloned machine appears. Is there something else I need to do to the machine after imaging it?

Thanks

Hello,

Could you please clarify some details:

1. As far as I understand, some machines does not join the domain, right? Was the source machine joined the domain before imaging?
2. Was Universal Deploy used while deploying?
3. There are known issues:
a) If DNS IP address is not specified in the source machine, then such machine won't be joined domain after deployment. Workaround is to specify IP address of DC in the "Preffered DNS server" field of the Connection properties.
b) If Universal Deploy is used while deploying, then the target machine won't be joined the domain.

Best regards.
