PXE Boot - "Unattended Restore"

Thread needs solution

Hello!

I downloaded the trialversion of Acronis Snap Deploy 3 for testing.
I figured out how to boot over PXE and was just curious if this program can do what i searched for or not..

I want to restore an image to a client directly.
That means, that i dont want to PXE-Boot Acronis Snap Deploy or Acronis True Image and THEN choose the Image..

I want to boot a menu (for example with pxelinux) and then directly choose an image.
So that i just PXE-boot a client, choose my image and relax. One Click. Fine.
Making the menu is easy, so thats not the problem...
So what I need is a command line for the config file.
Is there a way to bind an image or an image-path to the APPEND line of the boot menu?
Of course with using the Acronis software..

Just curious if any Acronis product can do what I need..

Thanks for the answers in advance..

Hello Marius!

Welcome to our Forum, we're glad to greet you here! I understand your scenario, and will be glad to help!

You can surely achieve this by using the Custom Deployment (see User Guide, Chapter 14. Custom deployment mode p. 83). Generally, the administrator creates bootable media or a PXE package containing the set of templates and switches on the custom deployment mode.

Users that need to re-deploy their computers boot the computers from bootable media or PXE and select the template by name from the boot menu. The deployment starts immediately and proceeds independently on each computer.

In the templates the administrator specifies the image and settings for the deployment (see Chapter 9. Deployment templates p.52).

This can also be done from the Standalone Bootable Media, but will require support assistance. Let us know if you need this functionality, we will help.
