Server upgrade

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I have Snap&Deploy 5, build 1366 installed on 2008R2 server which i want to upgrade to 2012R2. However in place upgrade is not possible so i need to backup my existing acronis installation - templates, deployment tasks. Is that possible?

Thanks in advance!

Hello, Valeri

There is no such functionality in Snap Deploy, but yes, it is possible to do that.
Steps are the following:

1. Go to Control Panel -> Folder Options -> select "Show hidden files, folders, or drives" option -> click OK;
2. Go to C:\ProgramData\Acronis\ and copy entire folder "DeployServer" to a safe place;
3. Install Snap Deploy on the new OS;
4. On the new OS, go to Control Panel -> Administrative tools -> Services -> Stop all Acronis-related services;
5. Make sure that Snap Deploy console is closed;
6. Copy the content of the copied DeployServer folder into the existing C:\ProgramData\Acronis\DeployServer folder on the new system (since the same subfolders are already exist, just merge all folders. Replace "Database" file when you're asked);
7. Start all Acronis-related services;
8. Launch Snap Deploy console to check if all machines, tasks and templates are presented.

I have tested this scenario on my environment and it worked.
