Snap Deploy 3.x (Build 3329) and Dell Optiplex 980's
When we attempt to boot a Dell Optiplex 980 with the Snap Deploy boot CD the system will hang while loading the Snap Deploy agent. We have attempted to turn off various bios settings and these has not helped resolve the issue.
Please help! We are in need of deploying over 100 Dell Optiplex 980's, but are not able to. Should I look for an alternative imaging solution at this point? It doesn't appear that Snap Deploy 3.x has been updated since October 2009? We are an active paying annual support paying customer and this is unacceptable.
Thank You,
Andrew

Hi Yana
I had this same issue with my NIC not being detected. You sent me a PM with the resolution...After that it did detect the NIC and the Image creation completed successfully.
***BUT*** Now when I am setting up my deployment and have to choose the .tib file to deploy the image, it gives me: "The selected file is not a Acronis Snap Deploy Management Console archive". So this issue is still not resolved?
I now have to remove the new files I have copied to the directories and put the old files back that was there from the installation, but now my NIC doesnt detect again?
Plz help!

Hello Barrie!
Thank you for your comment and for letting me know about the new issue! I'm really sorry for you've faced this inconvenience and surely will do my best to help you.
Recently one of our Customers sent us the diagnostic information regarding this problem, and it looks like we managed to resolve it (I hadn't receive a confirmation yet). But at least at lets us assume that this issue is related to the language differences of the bootable components update and the product itself, though its not proved.
Could you please send me via PM the following information:
- Any license of the product you're using
- Screenshot of the backup location where the images are stored
- Acronis Info from the machine with OS Deploy Server, PXE and Management Console
This will help me to localise the issue and find an appropriate solution.
I'm looking forward for your reply!
Thank you in advance for cooperation.

Hello,
We are currently using the TRIAL software to see if we can image these same desktops and are having issues not seeing the network card either.
Is it possible to get a PM to get this resolved and so we can fully evaluate if this is the right solution for us?

Anton,
Would you please send me the instructions on updating the bootable image referenced at the top of this page and then also the instructions to get through the secondary issue people have experienced? I am about to test Snap Deploy on 980's and would like to have all of this in place before I begin. We will be purchasing hundreds of licenses if this trial works.
Thanks
Steve

I am having the same issue here when launching the bootable CD and trying to create an image. The system kept on going back to a reboot stage. I had no issue when using the same bootable CD on Dell 780 and 745. Any help is greatly appreciated. Both TIH 2010 and TIH 2011 had same problem. Thank you

Hello all,
Thank you for your posts. Please accept my apologies for the delay but I will definitely help you with this.
In a few minutes I will send you private messages with the necessary instructions.
Bernie,
Just in case, this is Acronis Snap Deploy 3 section of the forum, we also have a True Image Home section which is more relevant for the products that you use. Most likely you have a Dell machine where this issue occurs. I will send you a "custom" version for Acronis True Image 2010 Home where this issue is resolved, as for Acronis True Image 2011 Home, most likely you will need to contact our Support team. I will send you a private message in a few minutes with all the information.
Please let know if you have additional questions.
Thank you.

I am also having problems with Snap Deploy 3 (Build 3329) via PXE and new Dell Optiplex 980 PCs. I was able to get around the "Unable to load Linux kernel" error by setting SATA Operation from RAID ON to Legacy in the BIOS. But now it will not detect the NIC, so I can't create the image file and save it on my server or load the image onto another PC. I have 32 Optiplex 980 PCs to load and am currently at a standstill. Are updated drivers available to correct this?
Thanks for your help.

Hello Bruce,
Thank you for posting and welcome to the forum. I will definitely assist you.
We have a series of updated bootable components which you can upload to the PXE Server, they should resolve the NIC detection issue.
I will send you a private message in a few minutes with these files.
Please let me know if you have additional questions.
Thank you.
